PE Technology Outside of the Box

We are familiar with our equipment, and know how to use it to drill for oil and gas. It's also quite commonly known that the same technology is used for geothermal wells. But drilling for humans is quite unusual.

On January 18, the Montanuniversitaet Leoben SPE Student Chapter had the honor of welcoming Mr. Leopold Abraham at the HS DPE. He spoke to 16 students of geosciences, petroleum and mining engineering about how he was one of the leading persons in the rescue after mining tragedy of Lassing, Styria.

Landmark Software Workshop

Are you interested in well planning? Than take the opportunity to learn more about the software package Landmark!

Dear colleagues! Our Student Chapter is happy to announce the next workshop in our series of training courses. This one will be about selected modules of the well planning software suite Landmark. The two-and-a-half-day workshop will be held by two Master students of our Student Chapter – Alexis Koulidis and Florian Gamperl.

Experts from OMV will visit Montanuniversitaet Leoben for an entire week to teach about seismic data processing for simulation.

February 2017 will be a good time to learn about reservoir modeling.
