Field Trip to Romania

In the week between the 23rd and 30th of April, our chapter, SPE Student Chapter Leoben, in association with the Petroleum Engineering Student Representation organized a field trip to Romania. The 22 participants were mostly Petroleum Engineering students in Montanuniversität Leoben, coming from 5 different countries.

Oil and Gas Horizons – a Success Story Continues…

Every year in November, the Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter holds their “Oil and Gas Horizons” congress. This year, a group of four students from Leoben visited the congress, which took place in Moscow from November 23 to 25.
Student Congress of Petroleum Engineering

The SPE Student Chapter Leoben joined the Department of Petroleum Engineering at our Alma Mater Leobiensis to celebrate the 60th anniversary of our discipline. For this reason, a three-day event was organized by the SPE Student Chapter and DPE.
Adventures in the Middle East – ATCE 2016 in Dubai

The 96th Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition took place in Dubai. It was the first time in the long history of this event that a city in the Middle East was chosen to host this event.
Encouraging the Future Oil Industry Leaders at ITE TU Clausthal

On the 15th of March the 2016 SPE President Dr. Nathan Meehan visited the ITE TU Clausthal to share his thoughts about the future of our industry. The visit was organized by the local Student Chapter in Clausthal. A delegation of 4 students from the SPE Student Chapter Leoben participated in this highly interesting and inspiring event.

SPE Leoben visits OMV Innovation & Technology Center

On 2nd July 2021, a delegation of our chapter had the chance to visit the OMV Innovation & Technology Center in Gänserndorf, Lower Austria.

Our Chapter Joins the Energy4me Initiative!

We’re pleased as punch to announce our Chapter’s involvement in the Energy4me initiative. Through our direct participation in the Advisory Team for North Sea, South, Central, and Eastern Europe we’ll be helping create a sustainable energy education program and sharing best practices in conducting school visits and Energy4me events.

Chapter Mission Statement and Key Objectives
